Insurance coverage

Most extended health plans in Ontario cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. Coverage differs between plans, so it is worth checking two things with your provider before you begin:

• Whether your plan covers a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) specifically — some plans list only psychologists or social workers
• Your annual maximum, and whether a physician's referral is required

Receipts are issued after each session and include the registration details insurers ask for, so they can be submitted directly to your plan.

Payment

Payment is taken at the time of booking through the secure booking system. Sessions are self-pay, with reimbursement claimed from your insurer afterwards where your plan allows.

Psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist are exempt from HST.

Sliding scale

Financial assistance is available on application. If the standard fee is a barrier to starting, say so in an enquiry — a limited number of reduced-fee spaces are held for this purpose, and asking changes nothing else about the work.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged in full, as the time cannot usually be offered to someone else.
